We won! It was a long and glorious bid, and I'd like to thank everyone who helped us out along the way. We couldn?t have done it without you. The final result of the vote was 241 for us, 19 for Pasadena, and a few odds and ends (like the joker who voted for Durham). I?d like to thank Christian and his Westercon crew for entering the race, as I believe that made things a lot more exciting at the end and really got out the vote. Anyways, please click on through to the website of ReConStruction, the 10th Occasional NASFiC: www.reconstructionsf.com.

There is little more then a week left until Anticipation. As a treat for those of you who have supported us, and for those of you who are curious as to what we are about we are proud to present our bid zine, Sir Walter's Salon. You can download it here. If you have supported us and have not received an email with a link to the zine, please email us at chris.glug.hensley@gmail.com so that we may correct our records. See you in Montreal!

Hey, y?all! I know it?s been a while since we got an update on the site, but we?ve finally got an up-to-date supporters list posted. We?ve hit a lot of cons lately, all over the USA. Yes, Canada, we?ve been remiss, but we?ll be throwing our biggest parties of all in Montreal, so don?t fret. We?re in the final push, now, and we?ll have folks throwing parties at DucKon, Midwestcon, Apollocon, Westercon, and Libertycon. If you can?t catch us at one of those, come see us at Anticipation, where you can really help us out by voting for Raleigh to host the 2010 NASFiC. We?ve got some great stuff prepared for if we win, and I?d love to be able to share it with y?all. You can also go ahead and vote (if you?re a member of Anticipation, and if you haven?t got your membership yet, there?s still time) ? just look for the instructions in the WSFS section of Anticipation?s website. Hope to see you soon!

The final filing deadline for the 2010 NASFiC site selection vote has come and gone, and we are the only bid that has filed. That doesn't mean that we don't still need your support. We still have to work on putting the word out to make sure we beat the much dreaded No NASFiC. If you haven't done so yet, go to our support page to find out what you can do to help.

It's the dawn of a new year and a busy season of conventions is about to begin. Check out the side bar to the right to find out all of the places we?ll be this year in the run up to Anticipation. We have just updated our facilities page with information about dining around the convention center in Downtown Raleigh. It is still only a small sampling of what Raleigh has to offer, with over 40 restaurants within a mile of the center.

As we get closer to August we need your support more then ever. If you wish to support the bid and haven?t already, check out our support page to find out how, or come talk to us at a local convention near you. Our next appearance will be at Chattacon, January 23-25 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Hope to see you there!

Back from SMOFcon, where the bid hosted Friday night's barbecue dinner. We also faced the Fannish Inquisition, where I had to demure on one of the questions for lack of information in my head. To make up for that, here's the question, along with an answer:

Q: How much is parking in downtown Raleigh?

A: The Marriott offers valet parking, and charges $18/night. The Sheraton has a convenient parking garage, and charges $12/night. The City of Raleigh has several convenient parking garages, which charge a maximum of $10/day, and are mostly free between the hours of 7 PM and 7 AM, and on weekends. More information on those, and their locations, can be found here. A little foresite and a block or two of walking, as shown on the map, should be able to result in less expensive rates for less convenient parking.

The start of the fall is here, and with it another website update. If you want to support the bid head on over to the Support page, where we have just updated the presupport information. We have also uploaded our newest flyer here. You may notice a few changes in the layout since the last update. They are minor but should make for a more user friendly experience.

Just a reminder: Representatives of the bid will be at Capclave this weekend (the weekend of Friday the 17th ). We will be hosting a party to promote the bid and hope to see y?all there.

It's official! Australia has won their bid for the 2010 Worldcon, which means that there will be a NASFiC for 2010. With that in mind, I'm pleased to announce that Raleigh, North Carolina, will be bidding to host it. We've put together some basic information about Raleigh and the bid, and hope you'll take the time to check out the site. Our FAQ page contains answers to some of the questions that might have sprung to mind as you read this. The Support page lets you know who is already backing the bid, as well as how you can help us, too. The Facilities page lets you know about the hotels and convention space we plan to use, as well as Raleigh itself and the surrounding region. And finally, the Committee page will tell you more about the fans behind this bid. I hope you'll take the time to learn more about us, and decide to help us in our bid to bring the 2010 NASFiC to Raleigh, NC.
